The Trump campaign announced on Tuesday that it would begin accepting cryptocurrency donations, marking the first time a major party presidential nominee has done this.
This decision is in line with Trump’s broader agenda, which the campaign described as valuing “freedom over socialistic government control.”
According to a campaign press release, Trump supporters can now donate using “any cryptocurrency accepted through the Coinbase Commerce product.” The campaign assured that all cryptocurrency contributions would adhere to Federal Election Commission regulations, including contribution limits and disclosure requirements.
The campaign referenced Senator Elizabeth Warren, a surrogate for President Joe Biden, who has been vocal about her opposition to cryptocurrencies. In a reelection ad posted on X in March 2023, Warren declared she was building an “anti-crypto army” to restrict Americans’ financial choices.
In response, the Trump campaign declared, “MAGA supporters, now with a new cryptocurrency option, will build a crypto army moving the campaign to victory on November 5th!”
Weeks ago, at a Mar-a-Lago gala, Trump declared himself “crypto’s candidate,” pushing digital currencies into the spotlight for the 2024 campaign.
In December 2022, Trump sold a limited run of NFT trading cards that could be purchased with cryptocurrency. Earlier this month, he hosted a lavish dinner for his NFT backers at his Mar-a-Lago club, where he reinforced his pro-crypto stance.
“If you’re in favor of crypto, you’re gonna vote for Trump because they want to end it,” he said at the event, referring to the Democratic Party and President Joe Biden. Trump also pledged to ensure his campaign could accept crypto donations.
According to Nansen, the TRUMP token’s price increased by 14% following the announcement that Donald Trump’s campaign would now accept cryptocurrency donations.
In a thread posted on X, Nansen revealed that their analysis of the top 10 on-chain TRUMP buyers in the past 24 hours showed most addresses had low average ROI and win rates, with many having previously purchased TRUMP without making significant profits.

This trend, with the price of TRUMP having risen over 60% in the past month, indicated that these sellers were gradually taking profits to reduce their exposure. Many of these addresses were noted to be up over 1,000% in unrealized gains.

The principal and two staff members at a Florida high school who were reassigned amid a controversy involving a transgender student athlete playing on a girl’s sports team will be resuming their responsibilities after an investigation cleared them, county public schools officials said Tuesday.
James Cecil, the principal of Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, along with assistant principal Kenneth May and athletic director Dione Hester, will resume their responsibilities on Wednesday, Broward County Public Schools spokesperson Keyla Concepcion said in a statement.
Concepcion said the district’s Special Investigate Unit cleared them of “the allegations,” but said “the investigation concerning other aspects remains ongoing.”
Cecil and the staffers had been reassigned to nonschool sites after an investigation into allegations of improper student participation in sports was launched in November.
The school was later reprimanded and fined after state officials said a transgender student-athlete was allowed to play on a girl’s volleyball team for two seasons in violation of Florida law.
A Florida statute says athletic teams or sports designated for females, women, or girls are not open to male students, and says a “statement of a student’s biological sex on the student’s official birth certificate is considered to have correctly stated the student’s biological sex at birth if the statement was filed at or near the time of the student’s birth.”
The school was fined $16,500 and was placed on administrative probation for a full calendar year.
The fine represents $500 for each of the 33 volleyball contests the transgender athlete participated in for Monarch in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons.
The school appealed the fine earlier this year.
Some Monarch High students protested the staffer reassignments and held walkouts and demonstrations in support of the student-athlete.

But getting an appointment took weeks. The procedure that Ms. Goodlander needed is also commonly used for abortions later in pregnancy. Doctors across the northeast were flooded with patients traveling north from states where abortion had been banned after the fall of Roe v. Wade.
Her surgery came just a day too late: Ms. Goodlander, 37, delivered the baby in 2023 at a hotel near the hospital, relying on her experience taking a hypnobirthing course on YouTube. The harrowing experience, she said, exposed her in a deeply personal way to the new reality of a post-Roe America and inspired her politically, helping fuel a desire to run for a House seat in her native New Hampshire to help fight for abortion rights.
But there was another remarkable element to her experience. The national security adviser to the president, Jake Sullivan, was there, too — in his unofficial capacity, as her husband.
As she enters the race for New Hampshire’s second district, Ms. Goodlander comes armed with a powerful story, an impeccable résumé and deep connections in Washington and New Hampshire. Yet as she campaigns across western New Hampshire, she will have to navigate a personal landscape with little precedent.
There are only a handful of examples of the spouse of a high-ranking official running for federal office, and none when that official has been at the center of one of the most divisive issues in global and domestic politics — the war in Gaza.
